Breaking News from VicRoads Changes to CPS

The following is a release from VicRoads about changes to the Club Plate Scheme effective 4th October 20.

VicRoads Club Permit Scheme

The Club Permit Scheme is a log book based permit scheme that allows motoring enthusiasts to enjoy 45 or 90 days occasional use of historic and classic vehicles which comply with the relevant standards.

The Vauxhall Owners Club of Australia Inc is an approved club under the scheme and financial members may apply to have their eligible vehicles included in the scheme.

VOCA requirements for processing a Scheme Application are as follows:

  • Club permit application (from VicRoads)

  • Eligibility and standards declaration (from VicRoads)

  • Valid certificate of roadworthiness (owner to supply)

  • Copy of Club Permit Scheme Handbook (from VOCA )

  • New permit holders must send a copy to the Club Permit Administrator of the new number plate paperwork when issued by VicRoads

  • New permit holders must provide a series of snap shots, front, rear, side (door open) and of chassis/ID/ADR plate

  • Note that for modified vehicles new guidelines VSI 33 (VicRoads) describe permitted changes for pre 1969 categories and VSI 8 describes modifications beyond VSI 33 that require inspection by a VicRoads certified engineer

  • All relevant documentation needs to be sighted and signed by an approved Club Officer.

  • For a Club Permit Scheme vehicle to be legal, the permit holder must continue to be a financial member of VOCA

VOCA will maintain an up to date register of CPS vehicles to be made available to VicRoads on request.

VOCA to hold dated photos of all cars under the Scheme.

The Club Permit Scheme is of great advantage to our club members and Permit Members must be aware of all the Rules, and their obligations.

n accordance with the Scheme, Vehicles are able to be used for any purpose EXCEPT FINANCIAL GAIN.
